Schoolfest
Welcome to newcomers to SchoolFest, and welcome back if you were one of the 95 schools involved in SchoolFest 2006!
The 2008 programme from our new Artistic Director Lissa Twomey includes an outstanding line-up of international and local opera, dance, music and visual arts.

This means fantastic opportunities for students to see these amazing performances and take part in behind-the-scenes workshops organised just for them.
The SchoolFest team are thrilled to present three international shows specifically for young people: the wonderful world of the Children's Cheering Carpet, where interactive cutting-edge technology and stunning visual imagery combine; fun-filled family favourite Aesop's Fables, written by award-winning children's author Michael Morpurgo; and Lifeboat, a beautifully crafted portrayal of courage, endurance and friendship.
Our Behind the Scenes programme runs exclusively for students and is a terrific chance to attend sessions facilitated by some of the world's best artists, directors, musicians, choreographers and technicians.
After the success of the inaugural New Zealand Post Writers and Readers Schools Day in 2006, we've brought it back for 2008 with four thought-provoking sessions designed to get students excited about the written word. Younger students will also be able to meet with Ursula Dubosarsky, the award-winning Australian children's author.
We're looking forward to bringing you SchoolFest 2008 - an inspiring, challenging and entertaining experience.
See you in February!
